Larsen & Toubro begins constructing the 300MW Solar Plant in Saudi Arabia
Kolkata, Apr 13 (UNI) The Renewables arm of Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission & Distribution Business has secured the go-ahead to begin constructing the 300MW Jeddah Solar PV Power Plant.
The turnkey EPC order has been received from the consortium of Masdar, EDF Renewables and Nesma Company.
Awarded by Saudi Arabia’s Renewable Energy Project Development Office (REPDO) to the consortium under design, finance, build and operate mode, the project has now attained financial closure after the signing of the power purchase agreement and thereby the notice to Larsen & Toubro to proceed with the construction.

Iberdrola has completed construction of the first wind turbine at its AUS$500 million 317 MW hybrid wind and solar Port Augusta Renewable Energy Park in South Australia.
The landmark moment sees the completion of the first of 50 Vestas wind turbines that will be installed on the site, each with a capacity of 4.2 MW. The solar-plus-storage facility will reduce heavy fuel oil consumption by 13.1 million liters per year.German renewable energy company Baywa re and solar developer Suntrace GmbH have completed construction on a 30 MW/15.4 MWh solar-plus-storage plant at the Fekola gold mine owned by Canadian gold mining company B2Gold in Mali.
